Colorado Springs – CO
Before Jeff & McKenzie’s big day – McKenzie told me she wanted me to come look at the property they were getting married on. I’ve lived in Colorado Springs for most of my life and had NO idea what was in store. Just 15 minutes down the road from where I grew up, I arrived on hundreds of acres of land McKenzie’s dad had been the care taker for, as well as where she grew up. I was amazed by the history of the land and thought it was so, so special they were having their wedding in such a sentimental place.
While Jeff and McKenzie were driving me around the property, I was in awe of all of the beauty. I was shocked when Jeff took me to an old hostile/brothel on the property that still had names written on the walls of dates people stayed – dating all the way back to the early, early 1900’s! It was so special for them to get married at a place that had such a big play in their relationship, as well has hold so much beauty & opportunity to explore.
This was really one of my favorite weddings to shoot due to how incredible & special this location is. I seriously am in awe at how this is just 15 minutes down the road from me and I would have never known! I had the best time with these two and it was so special to be a part of their wedding day, along with so many of their friends & family.
Forever grateful & hoping you love this moody, woodsy wedding as much as I did
xx
